A first round of UNITED VODKA tasting competition is over in Belgrade.

It seems all the excitement are behind: the applications collected, vodka samples delivered , members of the international jury gathered in the tasting room at the hotel "Moscow ", located in the heart of Belgrade.

There are representatives of Serbian public in the presidium, and journalists from Serbian newspapers and magazines, as well as TV crew from Bulgaria are at the entrance. And all this just to hold a tasting and to determine what kind of vodka is really the best in the world.

There are specialists from Belgium, Serbia, Slovakia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan in the international jury. All of them are the real luminaries in vodka production business, candidates and doctors of science, experts of alcoholic beverage technology.

What's different about this contest from the previous events?

First, it has expanded the geography of vodka, submitted to the contest. Product from Bulgaria, Mongolia, Russia, Poland, Slovakia, Ukraine, Slovenia and Italy were participating the UNITED VODKA competition.

For the first time drinks from Bulgaria, which included vodka, brandy and sweet liqueur from rose petals participated in the contest. This year there were more participants in the category of "brandy", and bitter liqueurs, produced in Slovakia, Slovenia and Italy.

Traditionally, competition among participants is very high and the jury members emphasized that almost all the drinks are very high quality, what was not often noted in the other tasting competitions.

In the first round of the competition 31 samples were tested. The other drinks will be posted on the 2-nd round of the UNITED VODKA competition, which will be held in Varna (Bulgaria) 5 April 2011.

And those who have not yet registered its participation in the contest, has a chance to make it for the 2-nd tour in Varna.

The application deadline is March 16.
